Construction is about to Begin
Our upcoming construction project will begin in a little over a week. This is an exciting time to see the improvements that will take place on the golf course. Aspen golf construction will be being to bring in their large equipment on June 7th and storing it out of sight. Then on June the 10th, their crews will arrive along with additional smaller equipment.
The image above is a cross section of what a USGA green build will look like. There is drainage in the bottom, then approximately 4in of gravel, then 12in of sand, the turf is then grown on top of the sand.
We will be building 6 new greens which will each require 300ton of sand each. This sand will be stockpiled in the parking lot in 300ton increments, and moved to each green when the contractors have the area prepared.
As with irrigation, the parking lot will be the staging area for all of the materials needed for the project. This is the only area we have that is big enough to stage the large amounts of materials. Please use caution coming in and out of the club, since there will be many moving parts coming and going from our parking lot this summer.
Listed below is the schedule of events for the project. These dates are subject to change based on weather conditions.

Construction Schedule for Golf Hole Improvements for Summer 2024
Note: This schedule could be adjusted due to weather. However, the construction will be as sensitive as possible to the golfers, and they will not proceed to a construction area until ready to build.
New Irrigation System:

Note: The installation of the new irrigation system will be ongoing throughout this year. The Main line is being installed this Winter and Spring. Then the laterals for the holes that will remain the same will happen one hole at a time throughout the Spring and Summer. There may be some minor interruption to golf as these laterals are installed. Then the rest of the irrigation will be installed on the renovated holes late Summer, while these holes are closed.
