Construction Has Started

Aspen Construction began last Monday and showed up ready to go. They have been moving very quickly working on new hole #8 and the tees for new hole #9.

The process started by spraying out the existing turf in order to till up the ground to make it possible for Aspen to strip the topsoil and stockpile it for use later in the project.

They brought in a large D8 dozer to make quick work of the large pushes needed to shape #8 green.

After the green is rough shaped in, the use a smaller dozer to do a finish grade and continue to shape in the green cavity.

In the picture above you can see the green cavity taking shape. This week they will begin to trench in the drainage, add a layer of pea gravel to the bottom, and then fill the cavity with sand. After that process is complete, we will wait for the irrigation to be installed, then we will begin to grow grass.

The tees are being finished up for new #8 and the entire hole has just about taken shape.
